OFHS activities and sports have recently made their presence known. Here are a few key highlights from the past month.

On February 13-14, the OFHS Chess Team won on three boards at State down in Peoria. Reilly Arias, playing on Board 8, received a gold medal for 6 wins and a draw.

On February 26-28, Business Professionals of America (BPA) had three of its members qualify for Nationals. They will compete in Nashville this May.
On February 14, the Bengals’ Boys’ Swim and Dive team had a team score of 262 at the SSC Conference meet and won the title. There were five conference champions: Justin Chimino, Josh Kowalczyk, Josh Fedro, James Lane, and Nick Harshman.

On February 28, in Bloomington, Illinois, the girls’ wrestling team finished 3rd at State. Alex Sebek was 2nd in her division, and Rain Scott was 2nd in hers. Iyobosa Odiase Igiehon qualified for State as well.

On February 28, also in Bloomington, boys’ wrestling met with great success. Austin Ponziano finished 3rd at State in his weight division. Jason Janke finished 5th in his division.
All of these recent triumphs demonstrate how Oak Forest High School, its students, and its coaches and sponsors regularly achieve excellence. Congratulations, Bengals!
