On March 20, senior English classes celebrated the start of spring break, including lifelong reading, in an exciting event called Senior Lit Fest. They had a special visit from authors—and Oak Forest graduates—Bridget Morrissey and Ian Ryan.
Bridget, who lives in sunny Los Angeles and jumps at every chance to visit Oak Forest, has written four adult novels and three YA books. Ian, whose writing life started in high school and hasn’t stopped, has contributed to poetry and fiction collections, written sports pieces, and published one book of short stories and two books of poetry.
The class of 2026 seniors had a very memorable day participating in the Q & A with Bridget and Ian, taking part in numerous activities as well as getting copies of books signed. They also had an opportunity to listen to the music of Mr. Chambers and Ms. Cotrano. A shout out to the IMC staff and to Bridget Morrissey and Ian Ryan for making this event happen.
