The DCEU (DC Extended Universe, for those not fluent in DC Comics) has confirmed a reboot to its Batman movies with a new actor in the title role. It has been confirmed that Ben Affleck will no longer play Bruce Wayne; instead, Robert Pattinson will have an opportunity. Other actors who have been confirmed are Zoë Kravitz as the new Cat Women, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, and Paul Dano as the Riddler. The movie is rumored to be set in the 90s and features a younger Batman. Instead of being the classic action-filled superhero movie, it will be more of a crime thriller, revealing the detective side of Batman.

According to writers and directors of the new Batman and the recently released Joker, these two movies won’t be connected to one another. Although it won’t have any ties to Joker, the movie will be joining other new and successful DC films such as Aquaman, Shazam, and Wonder Woman. This new Batman reboot is rumored to be released in the summer of 2021.
