Have you ever wondered what someone was thinking? Of course you have. Well, thanks to advances in modern technology in our world, this might soon be possible. It might sound crazy, but scientists warn that governments and corporations could use these “ brain implants” to read your mind and monitor your mental activity.

Telepathy and the ability to see within minds may not be a thing of sci-fi movies anymore; they may become reality. These implants have become a possibility thanks to advancements in neural interface technology, according to organizations dedicated to scientific research such as the Royal Society, which is an academy of sciences in the United Kingdom. These brain implants may be used much sooner than we think, as they are now medically licensed, and they are already being used to treat diseases and patients who suffer from seizures.

Scientists urge the government to act fast and impose some sort of ethical code of conduct before tech companies and major developmental corporations get their hands on this scientific achievement. The CEO and founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, has explained his take on these brain implants as “telepathic typing”. He believes that these implants could instantly “track” your thoughts and write them down as concrete words and phrases to communicate with others telepathically, which he considers to be revolutionary. As outrageous as these brain implants seem, it is probable they will become part of our society sooner rather than later. Let’s just hope that they don’t fall into the wrong hands.
