Where the Wild Things Are

Agustin Tilca Martinez, Contributing Writer

Clubs at Oak Forest High School have always had their own identity and their own sets of projects. Nowhere is this more clearly the case than with Ecology Club. For example, during the summer, while most students were sleeping, Ecology Club students, rising at 5 am, collected data on bird populations for the
upcoming Wild Things Conference. In addition to this summer-long project, other members were also working in the nearby district of the Cook County Forest Preserve. The Ecology Club is also even more active during the school year. Recently, it has set up cameras in Bartell Wood and Yankee Wood for a study on owls’ habitat preferences. At the same time, the club has been organizing its school fashion show, scheduled for Thursday, Febrary 28. With all that said, we look forward to updating you along the way.
