The Oak Forest Boys’ Bowling team is off to an incredible start this season. So far, the team has placed first in the Silver Division at the Naperville Central Baker Invite and second at the Oak Lawn Invite. The boys are excited to bowl at their upcoming tournament, the Plainfield South Cougar Invite. Varsity player Austin Nielsen described his team as cooperative: “We are a very solid, teachable group. We put in hours of work in our practices so that we can succeed at our matches and tournaments. As for the freshmen and sophomores, they all have great potential and I look forward to hearing what they will accomplish in the upcoming years.” According to Nielsen, bowling coaches Matt and Peter Spreadbury are always looking for ways to help the boys improve. “They are great coaches who put so much time into helping us improve and learn. I cannot thank them enough for all that they do!” Within the past two years, the boys have had one state qualifier for the finals. As for Regionals, the boys will be attending the IHSA Conference coming up in January 2019. The team hopes to continue growing and working together to accomplish their goals for the 2018-2019 season.
