On Friday, September 1, Oak Forest High School’s football teams went up against Sandburg High School Eagles in an intense home opener. While the JV team tied the Eagles, 6-6, the varsity Bengals lost, 25-11.
Even so, the Oak Forest High School choral group started with the national anthem, and the marching band performed the school’s fight song. Meanwhile, Pep Club’s energy was spontaneous and out of this world. During halftime at the JV game, the JV Dance and Cheer teams showed off their school spirit, supporting the JV Bengals in their tie with Sandburg. It was the same energy against the varsity team; the Varsity Dance and Cheer teams showed their energy, even in the football team’s defeat. The OFHS Marching Band performed during halftime as well.
Despite the loss, we still had a fun time at the football game as there were concessions, raffles, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and much more. It was a great experience, and as the Varsity Manager for OFHS Football, I can’t wait for the next game.
Go Bengals!
