Vacations to Remember

Nicholas Sweis, Staff Writer

This summer, I went to the East Coast with my family. I was in Rockville, Maryland, right next to Washington, D.C. I also went on a road trip from Maryland to Virginia and back. I went swimming at a complex near my aunt, uncle, and three cousins who I was visiting. I also went to Six Flags America, which is in Bowie, Maryland.

Washington, D.C. is about 40 minutes from where my relatives live. I saw the White House, the Washington Monument, the U.S. Capitol, the Lincoln Memorial, Lady Bird Johnson Park, and the Arlington Memorial Bridge. I was in the Georgetown neighborhood of DC. Further from my aunt and uncle, there are many more places to see: ponds and lakes, Black Hill Regional Park, and many other wonderful sights.

It was a very fun summer, one that I can’t forget. The fact that family and friends came over while I was there made it even more fun. My personal favorite was Six Flags because the park had plenty of rides, games, and amusements. I think that it’s one of the most popular places you can go to with family and friends during the summer or, weather permitting, anytime that you want to go.
