Oak Forest Soccer Kicks Childhood Cancer
September 20, 2019
On September 16, the Oak Forest varsity boys’ soccer team held a game against Oak Lawn. Oak Forest came out blazing, scoring its two goals within the first 25 minutes of the first half. Not only did Oak Forest score two goals in the first half—the Bengals also had two big saves that stopped Oak Lawn from scoring. After the second half started, Oak Lawn scored its first goal on a penalty. The second half was full of Oak Lawn parents on the edge of their seats and Oak Forest parents hoping that the Bengals could remain in the lead. The final was 5-2, Oak Forest ultimately getting the win against Oak Lawn. Not only was this a fun, energetic soccer game, but it was also for a good cause with raffles and a bake sale to raise money for children with cancer.
