The Oak Forest Bengals boys cross country has been off to a good start to heading throughout the season. The boys cross country has shown a lot of promise and grit throughout the year as they continue their season.
The Bengals have had 2 runners who have consistently placed in the top 10 during their meets this season. Senior Nick Manso who has been a big part of the boys cross country team with not only his leadership but his skills playing a big role.
“Being able to be a captain is a great honor and I love to make sure our team is doing what they are supposed to be doing,” he said. “Making sure everyone can become the best they can be because we will need it come the state series,”
Junior Hudson Neth has been one of the top runners for the Bengals this season and has been a huge asset to the team. “I think the season has gone really good so far and everything has gone better than planned,” he said. “I’m just gonna go out and give it all my best no matter what,”
Hudson has the Bengals best time for the 3 mile at 15:24:5 for his PR. Nick is right behind his teammate Hudson with a 15:42:9 timing for a PR. With these two at the helm they have consistently reached the top 10 in the 3 mile.
The Bengals are looking to continue their success throughout the season as they keep going. Hudson and Nick would like to continue their success as well as the rest of the team and continue to improve their individual performances throughout the season. Coach Andruch has guided these Bengals to a good season and looks forward to guiding them to the next level.
“So far they are about where we thought they would be,” he said. “It’s one of the few sports where you are not totally dependent on your team as you can place individually and score as a team,” Coach Andruch seems confident in where his team places individually. Coach Andruch had also mentioned his two runners Hudson Neth and Nick Manso.
“Nick Manso and Hudson Neth are two of the guys that had huge summers so it is no surprise they are running very well right now,” he said. Nick and Hudson are both going through an amazing season and hope to continue their success as the Bengals host a home meet on October 11th, first race is at 9:00 AM, and as always, “Go Bengals!”
