The Oak Forest Bengals have had an incredible start to their season, starting off 4-0 with new head coach Zach Sadek. With Coach Sadek at the helm of the Bengals, it has seemed as if the team has blown out each opponent they have faced so far by having scored over 40 points each game.
The Bengals started the season against the Marmion Cadets and defeated them 41-28 in a thrilling game to begin the year. With the Bengals starting out 4-0 it has started to send a message out to the rest of the South Suburban Blue conference that the Bengals are not to be messed with, as the Bengals are also 2-0 in conference play.
As the Bengals have a big game this week against their conference rival, the Tinley Park Titans, Coach Sadek shared how it is going into this week’s game against an opponent. “Anytime you play one of the other 3 schools in District there tends to be a higher level of energy,” he said. “We are looking forward to the challenge of Friday night and what should be an atmosphere full of high energy.”

During the off-season, the Oak Forest Bengals had a big coaching change and had to adjust to a new system in many ways. WR/LB Andrew Dawson shared how he has felt about the culture in the locker room with this shift. “Locker room is great– I mean, we’re close. We’ve always been,” he said. “I mean, it’s definitely a little bit different than Coach Malopsy, but Coach Sadek stepped in, obviously done a great job starting out 4-0.”
Not only has Coach Sadek won over the locker room they have also bit into his program and what he wants out of them. So far in the South Suburban Blue Conference, Lemont stands in 1st place being 2-0 in conference play, meanwhile the Bengals are in 2nd place while being 2-0 in conference play per MaxPreps.
DB/RB Kevin Sullivan commentred on what this game against Tinley Park can mean for conference “Great opportunity, you know, send another message of what we’re capable of to the whole conference and just let people know how we’re coming and, you know, this is us,” a lot of optimism from Kevin as he wants the Bengals to send out another message to the whole SSBC.
The Bengals kick off at home on Friday, September 26th at Bengal Stadium as the 4-0 Oak Forest Bengals look to continue their success in defeating the 1-3 Tinley Park Titans at 6:00 PM, and as always, “Go Bengals!”
