Homecoming Week is always one of the most exciting times of the year, and last week our school went all out to show our Bengal pride. Each day had a different theme, and many students and staff dressed up to participate. Monday kicked things off with “Band T-shirt day,” Tuesday was “Neon Day,” and Wednesday was “Hippie/Woodstock Wednesday” (hence the tie-dye, peace signs, and retro outfits). Thursday was the highly anticipated “Cowboy Day,” and Friday was “Black and Gold.” For the entire week, the hallways roared with music, color, creativity and excitement.

The hall decks were just as creative as the outfits, each class having its own music festival theme. Each grade has a sponsor who helps run its area. The sponsors for this year’s hall decks were as follows:
Freshman: Ms. Pecka
Sophomore: Ms. Strycek
Juniors: Ms. Boyd
Seniors: Ms. Hellinga
The freshman class had “hippies/Woodstock,” The sophomores had “country thunder,” the juniors had “woodland disco,” and the seniors went all out with “EDM,” an ultra/rave with a huge photo-op wall filled with neon sayings and hashtags.
Students spent Wednesday decorating the halls, getting all the vibes pumped up for the fun-filled weekend. On Thursday, the upperclassmen played music during the passing period, so when you walked through the halls, you were truly immersed in Bengalpalooza.
Overall, Homecoming week was a fun way to bring the school together. The creative dress-up days and hallway competitions made everyone feel involved, and the energy built up school spirit, leading into the weekend’s events.
