Senior year is when we officially start preparing for our next adventure: college. Adults prepare us for the future that awaits us after graduation. It’s also the year when seniors get to enjoy a last moment in high school and with the friends who they’ve been with for four years. It might be inferred that senior year is the best year for most students because of the activities and electives that they are able to enjoy. Seniors have prom, graduation activities, influential teachers, and memories of hanging out with their friends. Gustavo Ortega said, “I will always appreciate my senior year. I had so many beautiful memories with my friends.”
No student ever forgets that last year before adulthood officially begins. Then there’s graduation, a moment for students to remember and relive the memories that they have made. Many seniors appreciate and incorporate everything that they have learned throughout their high school years in college. They discover what they want to pursue in college and, quite possibly, do for the rest of their lives.
It’s a time when students find themselves dealing with conflicting ideas. Many don’t know what they want to do, and that’s understandable. It may take a bit more time to figure it out. As much as anything, senior year means saying goodbye to youth and welcoming adulthood. An anonymous person said, “I’m scared for this year to be over, but I’m excited as to what life will bring in college.” Senior year is when students can enjoy their youth a bit and also welcome the new adventures that await them.
