Oak Forest High school is now back in session after students wrap up their spring break and take on the home stretch of the school year. The school year still gives students various events and activities to look forward to. One of the most highly anticipated events for every school is prom, a night that students can remember for the rest of their lives. With fancy attire, exciting music, cool dance moves, and countless memories waiting to be made, seniors will enjoy one final high school dance.
Some other events include the various school sports that are now back in session. Baseball and softball players are back in action, looking to crush it on the soft, dirt-filled fields and represent our school in style. The track team is racing ahead and preparing for meets that will test their peak athleticism through speed and endurance. Tennis and lacrosse athletes are also honing their skills and determined to leave an impact on their program that will last even after they graduate. Junior Justin Chimino discussed his water polo season coming into full swing and stated that he is looking to the future. “I’m looking forward to getting bigger and stronger for senior sports and dominating our conference to leave my mark in the school’s history,” said Chimino.
As the school year winds down, students should be reminded to stay focused and finish out the school year the best way that they possibly can. Especially with projects, AP tests, finals, and graduation, students should try and stay locked in and represent the school proudly. Senior Chris Jensen reflected on the end of the year. “I’m happy to be able to finish off my finals and cruise into spring break!” Although the end of this school year may be coming soon, students should make the most of their time here at Oak Forest and finish in an exciting fashion.
