On Thursday, January 18, the Oak Forest High School Boys Swim and Dive Team had their annual Senior Night. This year, the team broke a record, having 14 seniors on the team. Usually, the team has about 5 seniors at most. Here’s the seniors and how many years they were on the team:
Vinny Alaska: 2
Carter Capron: 3
Justin Geigner: 4
Devin Kane: 3
Nathan Koleczek: 2
Ian Kuehl: 1
Aaron Mabe: 3
Leo Miller: 4
Aidan Rangel: 2
J. Rodriguez: 2
Charlie Ryon: 3
Jeremy Simich: 2
Scott Sosnowski: 2
Nicholas Sweis (me): 2
On Senior Night, the team went against Lemont and Reavis, and Varsity placed 2nd, while JV finished 3rd. The seniors were recognized at the end of the meet, as their parents escorted them out. All seniors enjoyed doing their “last” swim/dive as the underclassmen cheered on them. It was a fun meet, and the seniors enjoyed having their parents watch them fearlessly compete against Lemont and Reavis. (Conference this year took place at Oak Forest, February 8 and 10. February 8 was Dive Conference, but the Bengals won’t go against any teams, since they don’t have any divers. However, on the 10th, we’ll be going against T.F. South, Bremen, Tinley, and Lemont High School. Come out and support your fellow Bengals on those 2 days!)
